Central Board of Secondary Education was vested with the power and authority to conduct the CTET Central Teacher eligibility Test for the candidates who aspires to be the teachers.. It has been made mandatory by National Council of Teacher Education NCTE qualifying in Central Teacher Eligibility Test CTET is an indispensable factor , to be a teacher in classes I to VIII. NCTE has given this ruling under sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act.
