This latest technology is based on existing (2 dimensional) 5.1 surround sound configuration, augmented with height channels above the existing three channels to give enhanced sound experience. The Auro 11.1 system is built using surround, height and top layers. The surround is for sounds generating from around the listener, the height layer reproduces sounds coming slightly from an altitude of 30 degree and the top layer is for overhead or other special effects.

Aura 3D is a new sound technology which is being introduced in India for the first time by Kamal. It will enhance movie watching experience to a new level.

The sound effect is said to be superior if the movies are recorded using compatible technology as in the case of ‘Vishwaroopam,’ a Tamil movie, starring Kamal Haasan which has been recorded using 3-D technology, and it is the first film to use Auro 11.1 in India.^[
